Peggie has extensive experience in energy and environment, water and sanitation, health and hygiene, micro-finance and community development. In 2005/06, Peggie was engaged as a consultant for drafting the energy chapters of the Fifth National Development Plan and 2030 Long-term Vision of the Republic of Zambia. This involved holding consultation with provincial and district planners in the country. The consultations have focused on a number of crosscutting issues such as poverty reduction, gender and HIV/AIDS, income generation and local governance. The work has resulted in the development of socio-economic baselines for monitoring and evaluating socio impacts of energy in four provinces of the country. Peggie has been devoted to community work mostly in low-income peri-urban areas of the country. She has worked with Resident Development Committees (RDC), NGOs, Donors and various consultants. Currently she is also working as a socio-economic consultant for the Lusaka Waste Management Project funded by DANIDA and the Lusaka City Council. From 1983 to 1998, Peggy was employed as an Energy Planner in the Ministry of Energy and Water Development. During the period, she was involved in data collection, energy tariffs, gender analysis, project design and community participation. Peggie is an expert in participatory methodologies and facilitation. Peggie holds a Master of Science in Development Economics and Energy Development Studies from Keele University in the United Kingdom, Diploma in Economics and Energy Development from Surrey University (UK), Certificate in Rural Energy Development from the University of Twente (Netherlands) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration (Economics) from the University of Zambia.

Nsongela, Shadreck

Shadreck has over 13 years in the environmental sector specialising in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), environmental planning and community/stakeholder participation. Shadreck has served as the overall EIA Process Coordinator for the environmental regulator in Zambia and played a key role in enhancing the EIA process. He worked as Senior IEA Officer and reviewed many EIA, Environmental Management Plans (EMP) and environmental audit submissions. He was responsible for drafting the environmental licensing procedures for use by the ECZ inspectorate and preparing EIA Guidelines. Shadreck holds a Masters of Science Degree in Agronomy from the University of Zambia and a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Wonsan University of Agriculture in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Haanyika, Charles Moonga

Charles has extensive experience in rural electrification, renewable energy, energy policy and regulation. He assisted the Government of Zambia to draft revisions of the Zambian National Energy Policy in 2004/05. He has written and published a number of papers on energy/environmental policy and regulation and has facilitated at numerous workshops. In October 2005, he was a resource person at the ?Forum on Energy Legislation and Sustainable Development? organised by United Nations and the Parliament of the Republic South Africa in Cape Town, South Africa. Charles has carried out pre-feasibility assessments of potential mini-hydro power generation sites on the Munshya River in Shiwa Ng'andu, Chinsali District. The objective of this assignment was to determine the hydropower potential, electricity demand and load forecast, to design the provisional electricity supply network, and to estimate the development and operational costs. The project was done for UNIDO/GEF and the Government of Zambia. Charles was also intensively involved electrification studies for the Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC, to enable the company to prepare a bid for electrification of the 167,000 hectares Mkushi farm block with about 200 commercial farms on a BOO basis. Charles has an excellent understanding of the power sector institutions and legal framework in Zambia. He played a key role in institutional and operational development of the Energy Regulation Board (ERB). He developed and implemented the electricity sector regulatory framework and instruments. He also spearheaded the development of the electricity industry licences and performance standards, participated in the programme to restructure the electricity market in Zambia. Charles holds an MBA in Environmental and Energy Management from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Zambia
