With an initial background in education and communications and employment history spanning 35 years, I have extensive practical experience in program planning, management, monitoring and evaluation. As a UNICEF communication officer for 15 years, I have considerable experience working on several programs with the political leadership at the highest level, parliamentarians, cabinet ministers, local authorities, women and youth groups, faith-based organizations, NGOs, labor and professional groups, the media and the civil society mainly in Africa. A member of UNICEF Global Management Team (GMT) for 3 years, representing 7000 UNICEF staff worldwide. GMT is UNICEF’s highest policy and decision making body. During the three years, I acquired not only high level management skills, but also advanced analytical, evaluative and strategic critical thinking skills. My experience in the area of education spanning over a period of 17 years, range from a high school teacher, educational broadcasting, curriculum development, research and evaluation specialis to teacher training at college level. Also proactive ability to identify and recommend approaches to emerging communication challenges.
